Abstract

The plan budget for the year 2002-2003 was approved as Rs.10082.75 crores by the State Legislative Assembly. An amount of Rs. 10970.46 crores is proposed as the outlay for the financial year 2003-2004, which is 8.8 percent increase over the approved outlay of 2002-2003. The Social Services sector is given priority with the total allocation of Rs.2901.90 crores which is 26.45 percent of total plan outlay of the State, followed by Irrigation, Energy and Transport sectors. These three sectors together account for about 53.37 percent of the state total plan outlay. Irrigation sector is provided with Rs. 2226.79 crores, Energy sector with Rs.2175.55 crores and Transport sector with Rs.1452.87 crores which account for 20.30 percent, 19.83 percent and 13.24 percent respectively.
