Proposals for Second Five Year Plan Education Sector Government of Rajasthan

Abstract

We propose to open 5000 single teacher primary schools and provide for 5000 additional teachers for extension classes during the plan period. This will enable us to carry forward enrolment from 7 lacs in schools to 11 lacs 36.5% to 55.5%. We make provision to increase enrolment by 19% as against 10% envisaged by Government of India. It means that at this rate it will take us less than 20 years to have universal education in the State for the age-group 6-11.
