Annual Plan 1987-88

Abstract

The Annual Plan 1987-88 has been drawn up within the framework of objectives, policies and programmes spelt out in the Seventh Five-Year Plan and also the economic situation in 1986-87. Aiming at growth with social justice, the Plan lays emphasis on beneficiary- oriented anti-poverty programmes with a view to creating employment opportunities and generating incomes for the weaker sections of the society. Emphasis has also been laid on improving productivity and efficiency through better utilisation of capacity already created, up gradation of technology, completion of projects in time and greater efficiency in the use of resources.
