Abstract
"Ninth Five Year Plan was formulated keeping in view the national objectives set out by the Planning Commission as well as the State’s own priorities based on the development requirement of the major sectors of the State’s economy. On the basis of the assessment of Resources made in consultation with the Planning Commission, the size of the 9th Plan was worked out at Rs. 11600.00 crore at current prices. The State’s economy is predominantly agrarian but during the last decade or so industry has also started playing an important role. Trade has also picked up during the last few years.
