Evaluation of the Gram Saha Yak Programme

Abstract

There has been in the Community Development Programme, from its inception, a recognition of the importance of the role of village leaders as carriers of new ideas and initiators of new practices. Training camp for village leaders were organized in the community project areas in the earlier years of the programme. In keeping with this line of emphasis, the Programme Evaluation Organization laid stress in its earlier studies on village leadership and group dynamics. The organisation also conducted in 1954-55 an evaluation of the training programme for village leaders in a few areas.
