dc.description.abstractThe broad objectives of the Plan were maximisation of production in agriculture and industry, optimum utilisation of existing capacity and infrastructure, enhancement of employment opportunities, utilisation of indigenous material and manpower resources, bringing about balanced regional development, strengthening of public distribution system, amelioration of the living conditions of the poor, and distribution of the benefits of development to the weaker sections of the society.
