Abstract

The Planning Commission approved a total outlay of Rs.3100.00 crores for the Sixth Five Year Plan of Andhra Pradesh beginning- from 1980-81. The-outlay has been increased from Rs.467.00 crores in 1930-81 to Rs.538,00 crores in 1931-82 and to Rs,650,00 crores in 1932-83. Though the Planning Commission approved an outlay of Rs.605.00 crores for the States Annual Plan for 1982-33, in the Vote-on-Account Budget, an outlay of Rs.610.00 crores was provided. Subsequently in the context of the 20-Point Programme announced by the Prime Minister, the State Government undertook reorientation of Plan allocations to give necessary step up for schemes intended for the welfare of the weaker sections and to provide basic amenities to the poor people living in the rural and urban areas.
