dc.description.abstractArunachal Pradesh is a mountainous and thinly populated region bounded by Bhutan on the West. Tibet and China in the North and North East and Burma in the South East. The States of Assam and Nagaland have a common boundary with it in the South. The territory has an area approximating to 83578 Sq.Km. and a population of 4.675 lakhs according to the 1971 census. The density is 5.6 persons per sq.km. There are over 100 tribes in the area with their district culture, varied customs and different languages.
