Abstract
For the year 1970-71, the Government of India approved a Plan of Rs. 80.06 crores with a central assistance of Rs. 43.56 crores. However, having regard to the inevitable commitments, the State Government approved a Plan of Rs. 84.56 crores. This included the special allocations of Rs. 2.00 crores for the backward areas of Coastal Andhra and Rs. 4.00 crores for Rayalaseema but did not include the funds provided for special development schemes for Telangana. The region-wise break-up of the Plan of Rs. 84.56 crores worked out with reference to the old principles of allocation was Rs. 35.76 crores for Coastal Andhra, Rs. 18.14 crores for Rayalaseema and Rs. 30.66 crores for Telangana.
