dc.description.abstractUnemployment situation in Tripura is acute. Data of the applicants borne on the live register of employment exchange do not reveal the comprehensive magnitude of the problem of unemployment. The number of unemployed person registered on live register as on March 1986 is more than 1.00 lakh. In addition to the registered job seeker, there are vase number of unregistered unemployed especially in rural areas with little or no gainful occupation and no opportunity even for registration.
