Communicable Diseases Report of IX Plan Working Group

Abstract

Planning Commission, Government of India set up a Working Group in the context of the formulation of 9th Plan (1997-2002) vide its Order No.2(5)/1/95-H&FW dated the 2nd February, 1996 under the chairmanship of Union Secretary of Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The list of the members and the Terms of Reference of the Group are given in Annexure-1. The first meeting of the Group was held under the chairmanship of Shri P.P. Chauhan, Secretary (Health) on 13th March, 1996 where the problem of tuberculosis, leprosy, AIDS/STD, malaria, kala-azar and other vector borne diseases, viral diseases like Hepatitis and water borne infections were discussed in details.
