Abstract

The pace of industrial development in the State has not been as rapid as in other parts of the country. This is attributable to a number of factors operating in the State such as its geographical and topographical position, absence of a rail link to the valley and other parts of the State, hilly terrain, lack of adequate infra-structure, non-availability of cheap power, high cost of transportation on raw materials and semi finished goods, shyness of local capital and lack of technical and entrepreneurial skill.
