Report of the Health Survey and Development Committee Volume I

Abstract

The Health Survey and Development Committee was appointed by the Government of India in October 1943 to make (a) a broadly survey of the present position in regard to health conditions and; health organisation in British India, and (b) recommendations for future developments. The letter dated 25th October 1943 from, the Government of India to the Chairman of the Committee in. regard to its appointment and work is reproduced below and the press communique referred in the letter is given as Appendix 56i in Volume III of this report.
