Second Five Year Plan Progress Report 1958-59 Government of Madhya Pradesh

Abstract

With the implementation of the Five Year Plan programmes, all efforts have been directed towards intensification of activities in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors; opening up of large employment opportunities and continued expansion and extension of various social welfare schemes with a view to raising levels of living of the community. After consolidating the achievements of the First Five Year Plan, a much bolder and ambitious development programme has been launched all -over the country in the Second Five Year Plan touching almost every aspect of the socio-economic life of the community. The factors affecting economic development are inextricably inter-twined with the general economic trends and conditions. The year 1958-59 marks another important mile-stone on the road leading to the goal of a welfare society.
