Working of Welfare are Hostels in Dadra and Nagar Haveli

Abstract

The expenditure incurred by the union territory administration for running these hostels, however, was more than the grant-in-aid received in 10 out of the last 13 years. The union territory administration requested the Home Ministry to revise the norm of expenditure from Rs.40/- to Rs.60/-. In view of this request and in order to know the efficacy of these welfare hostels, which have been in existence for a number of years, the Ministry of Home Affairs requested the Programme Evaluation Organisation of the Planning Commission to evaluate their working and suggest, inter-alia, the necessary scale of assistance.
