dc.description.abstractThis Report is aimed at institutional strengthening of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAl) with a view to making it a multidisciplinary professional body with high quality expertise in financing and contract management. The NHAl is responsible for the development, maintenance and management of National Highways entrusted to it and for matters connected or incidental thereto. It is mandated to implement the National Highways Development Programme spread over seven phases with investment of about Rs. 2. 20,000 crore (USD 55 billion) over a period of seven years.
