Summary Record of Third Development Commissioners Conference on Community Projects at Ootacamund (27th May to 31st May 1954)

Abstract

The Third Development Commissioners’ Conference was held at Ootacamund from the 27th May, 1954 to first May, 1954 at the Arranmore Palace belonging to the Maharajah of Jodhpur, who at the request of the Central Ministry of States, kindly placed it at the disposal of the C. P. A. The Government of Madras was good enough to make the necessary local arrangements for accommodation etc. The Conference began at to a. m. on 27th May, 1954 with Shri V. T. Krishnamachari, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, in the Chair. Shri M Bhaktavatsalam, Minister of Agriculture, Government of Madras was present. Shri S. K. Dey. Administrator read the message from the Prime Minister which was followed by inaugural address by the Chairman.
