Second Five-Year Plan Orissa Review of Progress 1956-57 and 1957-58 and Plan 1958-59 Government of Orissa

Abstract

The outlay on the State’s Development Programme for the year 1958-59 has been determined at Rs. 16 crores in consultation with the Planning Commission and the concerned Ministries of the Government of India. the total expenditure incurred on the Plan programme for the year 1956-57 was Rs. 16.77 crores and on the basis of revised estimates the expenditure for 1957-5S is placed at Rs. 19.19 crores. That the size of the current year’s programme has been fixed at a level lower than the last year’s needs to be explained. Within the expenditure of Rs. 16 77 crores incurred in 1956-57 the Hirakud Dam Project accounted for an expenditure of Rs. 784T9 lakhs and in the revised estimates of expenditure for 1957- 58 Rs. 723.82 lakhs is attributable to the project.
