Abstract

It has not been possible so far to conduct such extensive Investigations on our proposed projects as would have enabled us to set out in detail and in exact terms the technical data bearing on them. No useful purpose will be served by narrating the reasons responsible for this situation. It is necessary, however, to mention that the work of the Irrigation department has increased miner times err and their hands have remained move than full with the work of consolidating the achievements of the present plan. Even so, experience has been a great teacher and it is the wish of the State Government that all important future activities connected with the excavation of canal followed the preparation of detailed projects. For this purpose two full divisions are conducting investigation on two major projects proposed for the Second Plan. The Ladder and the Ravi Canals.
