Abstract

The Hill region of Assam comprises two districts namely Karbi Anglong and N.C. Hills with total geographical area Of 15,222Sq. K.M. which is about 15.4% of the State of Assam, The estimated population of Hill Areas is 7.71 lakhs and the rate of growth is about 3,65% per annum which is higher than all India average. the population densities per Sq. K.M. for Karbi Anglong and N.C. Hills are 63 and 32 respectively.
