Abstract

The average contribution from the primary sector to the total NSDP has gone down to 20.7 percent during the year 1995-96 while that of secondary sector has gone up to 40.3 percent during the year 1995-96. The percentage contribution of agriculture (including livestock) to total NSDP has declined considerably from 45.2 percent in 1964-65 to 18.5 percent in 1995-96, while that from manufacturing has increased from 18.1 percent in 1964-65 to 33.8 percent in 1995-96.
