Report of the Committee of Ministers for the Rehabilitation of Displaced Persons in West Bengal

Abstract

The Fact Finding Committee submitted its report in June 1953. The report deals exhaustively with the various aspects of relief and rehabilitation of displaced persons in West Bengal and contains detailed statistics giving a mass of information relating to the various schemes undertaken by Government. The Committee has also given its suggestions regarding the manner in which improvements and adjustments can be made in the existing schemes and future policy of relief and rehabilitation. We have carefully considered the report and the suggestions of the Fact Finding Committee. Our appraisal of the position in the light of this report will be dealt with in the later paragraphs.
