Abstract

The latest Estimates reveal that the economy continued in its recovery trail during 1984-85 after the dumps reached in 1982-83. With the performance in the agricultural sector, which contributes to nearly quarter of the State’s Net State Domestic Product, registering a modest increase over the previous year, the overall income registered a growth rate of 18.1 per cent at current prices and 15.0 per cent at constant (1970-71) prices. The per capita income at current prices increased at a rate of 16.1 per cent and at constant prices at 13.1 per cent. the increase in the growth of State income was due to the increase in the income from Agriculture and Allied activities which showed a growth of 35.3 per cent at current and 26.9 per cent at constant prices.
