Abstract

In the meeting of the Resources and Expenditure Committee hold on 6th November, 1963, the Chief Secretary wanted to know from the officials of State Transport Authority the reasons for the short-fall oh the targetted figures of Rs. 3.5 crores, as the actual receipts under motor vehicles taxes during the first quarter of l968 were Rs. 328.92 lakhs and these in the second quarter Is. 313.22 lakhs only. A quick evaluation report on revenues accruing to the State exchequer of the Government of Andhra Pradesh as a result of the Administration of the Motor Vehicle Act was taken up by the Planning and panchayati Raj (Evaluation Wing) Department. The report was published in 1971.
