Abstract

Keeping these objectives in view and the role cooperation Can play in the economic rehabilitation of the scheduled tribes and the scheduled castes, the Ministry of Home Affairs, set up a Special Working Group in June, 1961 (Appendix-I) to study the progress of backward classes, particularly the scheduled tribes in the field of cooperation in the First and Second Five Year Plans and to suggest measures for accelerating the progress in this field during the Third Five Year Plan.
