Abstract

In the year 1979-80, the likely expenditure is Rs. 57.88 cores and work is proposed to be carried out as per approved outlay. Out of the total additional Irrigation potential of 540 thousand hectares to be created during 1978-83, the targeted potential for the year 1978-79 was fixed as 40 thousand hectares. Target for 1979-80 was also 40 thousand hectares and is likely to be achieved in full. The additional potential proposed for 1980-81 is proposed as 40 thousand hectares. The also targets for to. years 1978-79, 1979-80 and 1980-81 are on lower side as the work, on S.Y.L. Project has not been started by the Punjab so far.
