dc.description.abstractThis is a continuing scheme. With a view to production of certified seeds of improved and high yielding varieties of potatoes to meet the requirements of such seeds for the farmers bought for the valley, as well as hills of this state, it is proposed to establish one Certified Seed Potato Tuber Production Farm. Potato is grown in this State particularly in the hills on hills slopes without application of fertilizers and taking up of proper plant protection measures thereby yield: very low. It is also proposed to lay demonstration plots in the potato growing villages on farmers’ field to introduce scientific techniques of agronomic and plant protection practices.
