What do the villagers in a community development or extension project village where the programme has been in operation for a few months, know about the project; how frequent are their contacts with the project staff and especially the VLW; to what extent have they participated, in project activities initiated in their village; do they think the programme is on the whole beneficial to them and would help in development of their village; what are their most pressing problems and needs and how far do they think the programme is meeting them; what is their general attitude towards this new programme. It was the objective of this survey to get data on these and similar questions. It was felt that an enquiry of this nature would be very useful as it would reveal what the people know about the programme and what they are thinking about it after a few months’ experience with it.
