Abstract

The State has an estimated ultimate irrigation potential of 102 lakh hectares which is about 52 p.c. of the net sown area but the area irrigated in the State is a mere 15 p.c. Similarly hydel potential of the State has been estimated to be 5000 MW but the installed hydel capacity is only 345 MW.
