Third Five Year Plan Punjab State Annual Plan 1963-64

Abstract

The outlay that has been fixed for 1963-64 is Rs 39.49 crores (17 per cent of the Third Plan outlay of Rs 231.39 crores) against a likely expenditure of Rs 38.82 crores during 1962-63. This figure is related to the Central assistance provided for the year namely Rs 22 crores and the resources available with the State after meeting the requirements connected with the Emergency. According to the original phasing indicated in the Third Plan, the Central assistance in 1963-64 should have been of the order of Rs 27.50 crores and the total Plan for the year proportionately larger, i.e., about Rs 48 crores, but this has not been possible owing to the shortage of resources.
