Background Note on the Proposals of Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources for Ninth Five Year Plan 1997-2002 and Annual Plan 1997-98

Abstract

The background note contains the review of the programmes of the Non-Conventional Energy Sources relating to Rural Energy, Solar Energy, Power Generation, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) and New Technologies. The note also indicates the proposals of Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (MNES) for Ninth Five Year Plan and A.P.1997-98. The issues in respect of each of the programmes are also discussed, especially, with reference to the A.P.1997-98.
