Abstract
Andhra Pradesh which came into being on 1st November, 1956 is the fifth largest reorganised State of India and the fourth most populous state of the country. She has an area of 1,06,041 square miles which is 8.4 per cent, of the total area of the country and extends from Chanda in the North to Chittoor in the South and from Bihar in the West to the Bay of Bengal in the East. The State has a long coast line of 540 miles along the Bay of Bengal and is bounded by Orissa and Madhya Pradesh in the North, Bombay in the West and Madras and Mysore in the South.
