Report of the Working Group on Libraries

Abstract

In his D.O. letter No. 15,21/64 dated, New Delhi, the 15th June, 1964, Shri D. P. Nayar Chief Education Division in the Planning Commission communicated the decision of Prof. V. K. R. V. Rao, Member, Planning Commission to constitute a Working Group (List of members at annexure I to consider library development programmes during the Fourth Plan. While inaugurating the first meeting of the Working Group held on the 7th and Sth July, 1964 Prof. Rao in his address indicated the lines on which the Group could draw up a programme of public library development with due emphasis on library services intended for children and rural people during the Fourth Plan in the context of ten-year perspective.
