Abstract

All berths are dock wall brick masonry. The quay surface consists of Cement concrete floor. The safe writing load (SWL) is 19 cwt. per Sq. foot or 5.466 KG per sq. metre, exception being the portions of Screw pile jetties at 1,3 and 12 KPI where the SWL is 2 cwts. per sq. ft. or 1094 kg. per sq. metre. Berths 5/7 is normally used as one berth because of the sheer legs positioned on the quay. The average width of the quay alongside the berths is 18.29 M. in KPL I East and 15.24 M. in KPL I West.
