Abstract
The State of Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar and thus the 28th State of Indian Union came into existence on 15th November, 2008. It is bounded by Bihar on the North and Orissa on the South, Chhattisgarh on the west and West Bengal on the East. Jharkhand largely comprises of the forest tracks of Chotanagpur plateau and Santhal Paragna. It has a rich endowment of natural resources, forests and mineral resources.
It has some of the richest deposits of Coal and Iron Ore in the world. The State accounts for almost 40% of nation's of mineral reserves. It is the largest producers of coal, copper, Kynite and mica in the country. It is blessed with rich Founa and Flora. Topography of the State is mostly undulating, hilly and slopping with mountains, forests, river basins and valleys.
