Abstract

Agriculture in Tripura Apr from providing food etc. has been the largest source for providing work and income for the people. the major part of Tripura’s economy is built upon Agriculture. Out of the total geographical area of 10,47,000 hectares of which two-third is hilly area about 2,50,500 hectares (about 25%) are under Agriculture. the area under irrigation is about 11% of the gross cropped area and the rest of the area under rainfed/dry-land cultivation.
