dc.description.abstractThe present State of Rajasthan emerged as a result of 22 princely States and the then part CT State of Ajmer. The integrating its were widely different in size, population, Socio-economic conditions and administrative efficiency. The process of integration itself colossal problem which was happily solved by 1956. The precious of restoration of law and order, station of the State's finances and the establishment of a rational system of Government ill not allow any tire for any worthwhile attention to the problems of direct economic growth. Added to this were the problems posed by the physic-geographic conditions of the State, mainly in the area of water shortage both for drinking as well as irrigation purposes.
