Abstract
Manganese ore is a valuable mineral which is extensively used in the metallurgy of steel. India is one of the most important producers and exporters of manganese ore. Considerable foreign exchange revenue is earned by the country from the export of this mineral. In the year 1964, the export earnings from manganese ore stood at Rs.1354 crores.
