Evaluation of PL-480 Wheat Assisted Rural Manpower Progrramme in Selected Districts of U.P and West Bengal

Abstract

At the instance of the Department of Community Development, Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Panchayati Raj, Cooperation and Community Development, the Programme Evaluation Organisation undertook, during 19&7, a study of PL-480 wheat assisted Rural Manpower Programme in Varanasi and Mirzapur Districts (U.P.) and Tank Improvement Project in Purulia District (West Bengal). The reports for the selected areas in these two States are presented separately. Both the programmes had provision of part payment oi wages in kind for which foodgrains had been donated under PL—480.
