Social Sector Service Delivery Good Practices Resource Book 2009

Abstract

The preparation of the Resource Book was greatly facilitated by the support of the Planning Commission (State Plans Division), Government of India and United Nations Development Programme. The members of the Project Advisory Committee gave valuable suggestions in developing the project action plan and conceptual development of the framework of the Resource Book. Identification of the Good Practices was possible due to the cooperation extended by resource persons from different departments and agencies of various State Governments. Extensive discussions were held with these resource persons in order to collect information and data essential for developing the case studies. The members of the Project Advisory Committee, external experts from different sectors and the resource persons shared their valuable comments on the case study drafts with PRAYAS project team during the Peer Review Workshop. Their comments and suggestions greatly helped the project team to improve the case studies. Members of the Human Development Resource Centre, in the planning departments of States, particularly from the States of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, provided valuable support to the project team during visits to respective States. The project team acknowledges support, help and guidance received from the members of the Advisory Committee, resource persons from different Governments and external experts, and express gratitude towards them.
